AES Academic Language Institute
Join us this summer for a 3-week program of Academic English language instruction for students aged 6-17.
The Academic Language Institute (ALI) will run a 3-week program this summer and offers a truly unique approach to summer language learning. Founded by Dr. Mary Catherine Frazier in 2015, ALI draws on the latest research-based methods of language acquisition to empower students with the academic skills for the 21st Century.
At ALI, your student will benefit from:

Dr. Catherine Frazier, Founder of the AES Academic Language Institute.
Dr. Frazier created and designed the AES ALI curriculum and program with a team of nine instructors from AES, in the summer of 2015. She holds a PhD in Socio-Anthropology and Multicultural Education and two Master’s Degrees, MATESL, MATL in teaching English to speakers of other languages. ALI is her brainchild and a gift to the community here, to use, value, and be benefitted from it in the joyful pursuit of excellence. Thank you Dr. Mary Catherine Frazier!

Sessions:
Students in the primary or secondary programs can register for the morning group, the afternoon group, or both! Students registered for both morning and afternoon sessions will not repeat content. Instead, ALI's innovative programming will allow these students to go deeper with their academic language development through a new and engaging thematic curriculum and material in each session.

TUITION
- Primary and Secondary Program Fee: $500 per week
- Please note that this fee is the cost for registering for one group (morning or afternoon) in one session (each week i.e. 15 hours of intensive language instruction).

The total cost for a student will depend on the number of groups and sessions they sign up for. For example, if a student registers for both the morning and afternoon groups in Session #1/week 1, the total cost will be $1,000.

For Non - AES members: Please provide the following information for us to set up your account on SchoolsBuddy, the registration platform for camps. You will receive an email with directions to activate your account. After you activate your account you can register your child(ren).

AES Academic Language Institute Leadership
Archna Pearl Luther, Coordinator of ALI.
Ms. Luther is one of the EAL Faculty in the Elementary School and has been a part of ALI since its inception in 2015. She holds Bachelor’s Degrees in English Literature and Education, and a Master’s Degree in English Literature from esteemed universities in India. She also has international certifications in English Language teaching from Cambridge, ESOL and a Postgraduate certificate in education from the University of Nottingham, UK. This is her 18th year in AES and she is passionate about supporting English Language learners in their academic endeavor.
Ms. Jennifer Henderson, ALI Consultant.
Ms. Henderson has been the ALI Co-Director for the last few years and we are fortunate to have her valuable contribution as our ALI Consultant this year. She is a Middle School EAL Faculty and brings a rich experience of supporting English language learners at AES for almost two decades. She holds a Master’s Degree in EAL as well as a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.
ALI will strictly follow all of AES's COVID guidelines and protocols to help ensure the safety and well-being of all learners and the school community.
