Parent School Association
When asked what makes AES unique, our families and faculty lift up ‘community’ as a hallmark of their AES experience. After all, it's a fundamental human need to belong. The AES Community welcomes newcomers, values those who stay, and offers cherished lifetime memories and traditions to those who must move on. In a world where differences can divide, the acceptance and support in our community is worth exploring as a positive difference maker. Many families report that the hardest part of learning was finding another school to match the family-feeling of AES.
People are the strength and core of any great school, where colleagues become family and families become community. We gather at AES from all over the world and then attach to the most remarkable local citizens who anchor us all to this place and culture.
Who are we?
The AES Parent School Association (PSA) is an active, engaged group of volunteers, dedicated to supporting AES students, families, faculty and staff.
While all parents and guardians are members of the PSA, the PSA’s organization is run by an Executive Committee which meets monthly to plan and implement activities and events, and to discuss issues pertaining to the Elementary, Middle and High Schools. These meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month and are open to all parents and guardians.
The PSA supports and makes outstanding contributions towards the school’s development. Support is extended to all members of the community through various activities, socials, coffees and evening events, as well as fun and entertaining family holiday events throughout the year. Through these activities and connections, the PSA fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among parents/guardians, teachers, students and staff.
Family involvement at AES is always welcomed and encouraged. The PSA’s many scheduled events are listed in the AES Planner as well as published in the weekly PSA News. The PSA reaches out to the AES community for volunteers as events approach requesting family help to organize and facilitate these events. Volunteering is a fun way to learn more about the school and meet new and interesting people.
The PSA celebrates the diversity of AES through the hugely popular International Food Fair – a delicious afternoon with family and friends. The much-anticipated AES Gala is a fun adult-only evening celebrating the end of the year. Understanding of local culture is celebrated through the colorful and dynamic festivals of Holi and Diwali. Several other periodic events throughout the year offer a chance to get to know each other in the community.
PSA Grade Level Representatives facilitate communications between the school and Grade Representatives. These representatives serve as the point person for questions and suggestions that can then be relayed to the appropriate channels. Grade Representatives also assist counselors with organization and facilitation of grade-level coffees.
The PSA Link Family Program, organized by the Welcome Committee, matches newly-arrived families with veteran families. They also organize the New to Delhi coffee morning and the hugely popular Information Mela which provides an opportunity to learn more about all Delhi has to offer.
Committee’s like Events and Spirit provide plenty of opportunities for involvement and whether you would prefer to volunteer for a few hours or take on a more involved role, there are lots of chances to participate.
We encourage everyone to join us at some point during the year, to partake of the energy and dynamism of the AES community.
What started as a handful of dedicated AES parents selling T-shirts from folding tables has evolved into a roving cart and a store in the Tigers Den selling AES Tiger apparel, accessories, gifts, stationery and more!
AES Spirit Shop By our community, For our community
The AES Spirit Shop is a handful of fun loving and dedicated AES volunteer parents who promote school spirit on AES campus and throughout our community. Through our Tiger apparel we support our students in their Academic, Athletic and Arts programs and we foster and grow our Tiger spirit through community involvement.
Due to AES Covid regulations the Spirit Shop is not opening in person this year. Don’t let this get your Tiger spirit down as our community will have access to the Spirit Shop via Spirit Cart and Online Ordering.
The Spirit Cart
Our Spirit Cart opens on a coordinated basis for tournaments, conferences, and melas. Check for upcoming cart sale schedules and locations in the PSA newsletters.
